Nathan's Crawling Debut

For your viewing pleasure - and the parent's joyful and sad reinforcement that the little fella is growing up too fast.

We will be leaving friday for the mountains of CO, pictures will be posted if we don't forget the camera, or as Sarah says "...if we survive the jeep trails."

New Experiences

Many folks go their whole lives without the chance to meet a Sphynx. Not so for the son of two veterinatians! Nathan got to meet some hairless kittens at the clinic on Tuesday. He LOVED them. He was absolutely facinated with their ears and little smooth bodies.

Working Out and a Recipe

Nathan's new means of beefing up his baby body is to push his gym supports up with his legs.
It is hilarious!

And it has been ages since I posted a recipe, so here is a Paula Deen Squash casserole...A good, old southern treat!*
2 c cooked, mashed squash
2 c Ritz cracker crumbs
1 c evaporated milk
1 c shredded cheese
1 c chopped onion
2 eggs, lightly beater
1 t salt
1 t pepper
Pinch of sugar
6 T butter
Place squash in a large bowl. Add cracker crumbs, milk, cheese, and onion and stir well. Stir in eggs, salt, pepper, sugar, and butter, and pour into a greased 1-qt casserole. Bake at 350 F for 40 minutes.

Mine was actually nothing like this as I used zucchini because I found a HUGE one hiding from me in the garden, did not have Ritz crackers, and thought 1 c of cheese and 6 T of butter was insane. But it still turned out delicious, so feel free to experiment!
