NKOTB

As in New Kids on the Block, of course!

A change has come to the farm...the death of B Bob, our favorite cow, solidified the fact the we are not meant to be in the cow-calf business. So, my entrepreneurial husband decided that feeder calves would be our new venture.

We added 11 new members to our humble farm last week. They will remain here, being fed, until the fall at which time they will head back to the sale barn. I am excited, I hope it works out the way we plan.
These are the twins, they are the most friendly of the bunch.

Wyatt trying to herd.

Nathan caught sight of himself in the side mirror and loved it!

We are in the pasture here, not on main roads...

Sorry about the spacing, I am not sure what is wrong.

Six Months

Six months has flown by! Nathan is, amazingly, halfway to one year. In just 15 short years he will be earning his driver's permit (if the same rules apply in 2024)- Oh my goodness! He is a blessing to our lives and we thank God every day for this precious gift!!

Surveying the Damage

Last night we had some major storms in our area. I'm talking 70-80 mph winds, thunder, lightening, hail, power outages. The winds started about 9 pm and the rain moved in shortly thereafter. We lost power for about 14 hours and ended up with some trees uprooted and broken limbs, thankfully the house and barn were fine.

Hungry Girl (and Guy) Hamburgers

When my friend Ry was in town, she had a new cookbook called Hungry Girl 200 Under 200. I was not that into many of the recipes. They all called for fat free cheese and other tasteless products, but what else would you expect from a 200 calorie or less recipe?!? But she sent me an email last week from the hungry girl site that I love. I recommend checking it out. Tonight we tried the HG's, as they fondly call themselves, Inside-out Cheeseburger Patty. IT WAS DELICIOUS.

Ingredients
Extra lean ground beef about 1 lb
Laughing Cow wedge light swiss cheese
Worcheschester sauce
Hamburger seasoning

Mix beef and seasoning together, form a patty around the cheese wedge. Grill as usual. It was super yummy.

Family photo after lunch yesterday.

My friend and old roomie, Kerry, stopped by today for a visit. Wyatt played with her dog, Trixie.

Big Weekend

This was quite the busy weekend for us. We got up early Saturday morning and headed to Stillwater for Trace's sisters graduation.

Lillian decided she needed some heels and mine matched her skirt, so...

She was so cute!

Then we headed back home for a wedding. Nathan met Emma, the flower girl, who he liked very much.

Until she yelled in his face.

This morning, I woke up to a pancake breakfast and my two guys surprised me with a wonderful present...

An SLR camera!!! I am so excited, tomorrow I will hopefully update with some pictures taken with the new toy!

Sorry about the spacing and fonts, I am having troubles with the format.
